Matthew Cockfield brings more than 35 years of leadership experience across supply chain, contracting, and compliance operations spanning state government, federal agencies, the energy sector, and engineering environments.
He currently serves as Deputy Director of Acquisitions and Compliance Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy’s $2.1B Los Alamos environmental cleanup contract, where he oversees complex acquisition systems that must withstand rigorous regulatory scrutiny. His work ensures integrity, accountability, and measurable performance across a mission-critical program.
Previously, Matthew served as Procurement Services Director at Keystone Engineering, where he built and led a billable procurement services division supporting major capital projects across five offices. Earlier in his career, at the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP)—the nation’s largest deep-water crude facility—he managed $90M in annual contracting and implemented risk controls and contractor-performance systems that increased both cost efficiency and operational reliability.
His earlier leadership roles in higher education and manufacturing strengthened his ability to design clear, efficient systems that reduce friction, protect profitability, and enable sustainable organizational growth.
Today, as Principal Consultant at Cockfield Advisory, Matthew applies these same principles to help small business owners and builders streamline operations, strengthen decision-making, and scale effectively through his proprietary Cockfield Advisory Method (CAM)—a disciplined blend of strategic advisory and practical business architecture.
